Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.

Glorious weather beckoned as we headed up to stay with Pete’s in-laws. Their house sat right at the bottom of the walk and despite getting lost leaving the village (as is traditional), the walk progressed largely to plan.

Paul T attempted to navigate, Dave E really did navigate and Paul C just carried round an eight gallon drum in case he got thirsty.

We covered Crag Hill, Grasmoor, Hopegill head and Grisedale Pike. 8 hours and 22 kilometres later we wandered into the pub in need of a cold beer.

Anyone watching us over the last couple of kilometres would have guessed we were doing a sponsored walk for people with hip dysplasia.
