Pen y Fan, July 2017

It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside

Back by popular demand, another entry from our guest editor - Jack Tavener.

This was another training walk for the 3 peaks challenge. We started in the car park at the bottom of Corn Du and started our ascent up the mountain.

At the lake we saw a real mountain rescue helicopter land on the grass next to the lake and they were telling some wild campers off.

When we got to the obelisk we took some photos and Andy handed out some protein balls! At the top of Corn Du I was surprised to find that I had 4g on my phone!

We then trekked up Pen y Fan and then Amy and I stormed down. On the way up Cribyn Dad said he'd race me up. He soon regretted that idea!

On the very steep decent down from Cribyn once again Amy and I ran down and had to run round the sheep and then the tired group (me, Dad, Dave, Andy, Karon, Amy, Ella) walked back around the roads back to the car where Dave threw water over me.
